Muddy Paws Challenge 2016 at Brockwell Park

Some dogs (and owners) had a splendid and muddy time on Saturday 7th May 2016 in London's Brockwell Park. Battersea Dogs and Cats Home were having one of their regular fundraising days, with more to follow this summer, to find them take a look at their website.

Radio St Helier were present providing tunes and commentary, and the best named stall was Bec's Doggy Love Bakery.

Getting into a conversation with Rebecca and Neil of Doggy Love showed why they deserve the name. Becs is a groomer and dog sitter and host as well as dog treat baker. The most extravagant flavour treat being Pina Colada, though apparently the dogs favourite is the more traditional liver flavour.

Doggy Love sponsors two kennels at Battersea Dogs and Cats Home and have four dogs themselves, including a rescue dog. We took a sample of Meg's Tuna Triangles away for Dooley

Samples of Dooley's Pet Care range (the honey and coconut shampoo) and small Teepol hand sanitisers were in the goody bags given to competing dogs. Teepol enjoys its trips to Battersea Dogs and Cats home HQ in Battersea, and to its events. The charity is full of wall-to-wall dog (and cat) lovers, just like Becs.

When Battersea does events, it helps to have lots of contributions, and we enjoyed doing our bit. In fact, we donated 500 each of the shampoos and sanitisers. There will be a lot of honey and coconut scented dogs around London in coming weeks.

Dogs need good care and we came across roving, house-calling vets, the Pawsquad.

Of course, the event had flooded the area with wagging tails, and outside the delightful Blackbird Bakery in Herne Hill, another dog, Tintin, was relaxing.
